A resin detail set from the Czech manufacturer CMK, intended to improve the cockpit of a model of the F-86F Sabre fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not a standalone aircraft kit but a set of replacement parts with which you replace the simplified interior of the plastic kit. It typically includes a new cockpit tub with side panels, a seat, an instrument panel and further details; some releases add photo-etched parts. The set is based on the shapes of the F-86F kit from Airfix.
The North American F-86 Sabre was an American jet fighter of the early 1950s and a symbol of the Korean War. The F-86F version was the most widespread and became famous for its duels with MiG-15s. A detailed interior raises the fidelity of an open cockpit.
Wash the resin parts free of release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint the interior and pick it out with a wash before closing the fuselage; an airbrush works well.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
