A plastic kit in 1:72 scale on the Middle East Meteors theme that makes it possible to build the F.8 fighter variant as well as the FR.9 photo-reconnaissance one. It concentrates on the Middle Eastern operators of the jet Meteor in the 1950s.
The Gloster Meteor was the first British operational jet fighter and the only Allied jet aircraft deployed in combat during the Second World War. The F.8 version represented the definitive day fighter configuration with a pair of Rolls-Royce Derwent 8 engines and a lengthened fuselage. The reconnaissance FR.9 carried cameras in the nose. Meteors also served with Middle Eastern users, among them Israel, Egypt and Syria.
Before building, decide which version – the F.8 or the FR.9 – you want to build, because they differ in the nose. Use a thin modeling cement on the plastic, clean up the fuselage and nacelle joints carefully and apply a primer before painting. The color schemes of the Middle Eastern machines offer attractive and less common camouflage and national markings.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
