A set of replacement wheels for a model of the Heinkel He 111 bomber in 1:72 scale, in the early form. The parts are not polystyrene.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Heinkel He 111 is a German twin-engine bomber of the Second World War, one of the most widely used aircraft of the Luftwaffe in the first years of the conflict. On a model, the main landing gear wheels are among the parts a viewer notices first, because they sit at eye level in the display case. The set corresponds to the early form of the wheels.
The package contains replacement wheels in 1:72 scale intended to take the place of the parts from the kit. The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary cement for plastic models will not hold on them; they are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. The exact preparation procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder carefully so that you do not cut into the shape of the tire. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, as paint holds worse on an unwashed surface and peels off once dry. Set the hub and the tire apart in both shade and sheen: the tire should be matte and more gray than black, because a deep black swallows all the detail in a small scale. Deal with the boundary between hub and tire with a circular mask or a careful stroke of the brush. Fit the wheel last, once the landing gear legs have been painted.
The set is for the modeler for whom the wheels from the kit are not enough and who wants crisper detail on the landing gear. Before buying, compare the diameter of the wheel with the part in your own kit. The package contains the wheels only, unless stated otherwise; the model, paints and glue are not part of it.
