The base is a solid acrylic sheet with a color motif of the Israeli flag, on which a finished model is stood. It serves for display in a cabinet or on a shelf and for photography, because the colored area separates the model from the background and unifies the whole picture. The format is prepared for models in 1:72 scale.
The sheet measures 280x180 mm and is 3 mm thick, and the weight is 170 grams. The thickness is enough for the base not to bow even under a longer model, while it stays light and easy to carry. The edges are straight over the whole area, so the sheet can be laid even on a glass shelf.
Acrylic is smooth and fairly soft, and a coarse cloth or dry wiping scratches it easily. Wipe it with a soft cloth and remove any fingerprints with a slightly moistened cloth. The model does not have to be glued to the sheet, but with light models it is often an advantage to carry the base and the model together.
