A plastic kit of the 1:72 J.A.S.D.F T-4 Trainer from Hobby Boss: the Japanese Kawasaki T-4 jet trainer.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese T-4 jet trainer in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The name carries the abbreviation of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, that is, of the operator the machine was developed for.
The T-4 is a twin-engine trainer of indigenous Japanese design, developed with Kawasaki as prime contractor. It has a tandem two-seat cockpit with a stepped canopy, a shoulder-mounted swept wing and two small turbofan engines of Japanese manufacture. It was created to replace older trainer types and serves for the transition training of pilots between a basic machine and a combat aircraft. It first flew in the mid-1980s and entered squadron service at the end of that decade. Besides the training units, the T-4 is best known as the machine of the Japanese display team, which has flown it since the mid-1990s in a striking white and blue finish.
On a trainer the two-seat cockpit is the main area on show, so finish and fit it before you close up the fuselage. It pays to mask the canopy with strips of masking tape or with ready-made masks. Apply the base color with an airbrush in thin coats; on bold areas of color a white base helps, as the shade shows up on it. Before the decals, take a gloss coat over the surface, and once it has dried, flatten it according to the scheme you have chosen.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
