An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Grumman J2F-4 Duck amphibious observation biplane in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Valom. The set contains photo-etched and resin parts and vacuum-formed cabin glazing. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Grumman J2F Duck was a distinctive amphibious biplane with a large central float, which served the US Navy for observation, liaison and rescue duties. The J2F-4 version had a modified powerplant and additional equipment. The Duck earned a reputation as a tough and useful machine able to operate from water and land alike.
Before gluing, wash the resin parts free of mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks; bond them with cyanoacrylate. Cut the vacuum-formed glazing out with a margin and sand it down. The struts between the wings and the float call for accurate seating. Metal and colored surfaces stand out after a coat of filler primer.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included, unless stated otherwise.
