1:72 Junkers Ju 86R is a kit of the high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft Junkers Ju 86R in 1:72 scale from RS models.
Responsibility details are not available.
This kit from RS models captures the Junkers Ju 86 in the R version, that is in the high-altitude configuration with a markedly extended wingspan. For a twin-engine aircraft of this span, 1:72 scale is practical — the model stays compact and still keeps its detail readable. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Ju 86 was a German twin-engine all-metal low-wing aircraft of the mid-1930s, originally designed as both a bomber and a transport. The R version was the last and most unusual branch of the line: it was given a pressurized cabin, engines adapted for operation at great altitude and a substantially increased wingspan. These modifications let it fly higher than fighters of the day could normally reach, and the machine was used for reconnaissance flights. Its lightened structure and extremely long wing gave the aircraft an unmistakable silhouette, which the model in 1:72 scale captures well.
Kits from smaller makers usually need more preparation than mainstream ones — count on cleaning flash off the parts, dry-fitting them and filling the joints. The long wing deserves special attention: watch the symmetry of the dihedral on both halves and let the glue cure properly before you start handling the model. Finish the cockpit and the interior before you close the fuselage. Mask the glazing and spray the frames together with the surrounding area. Use a gloss coat compatible with your paint before the decals, a matte coat over them, and a light accent on the panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
