The M1132 is the engineer variant of the American Stryker wheeled armored personnel carrier with 8x8 drive. It serves to clear obstacles and to breach lanes through minefields so that the engineer squad can keep pace with the advancing infantry. Its equipment includes the SMP mine plow and further engineer gear; the armored hull protects the crew and is typically supplemented by a machine gun or an automatic grenade launcher in a remote weapon station. The type was deployed by the US Army in operations in the Middle East.
Assemble and paint the chassis and the hull first and only then close the assemblies up; on an 8x8 vehicle in 1:72 scale watch out for the small parts of the wheels, the suspension and the plow mechanism, which should be separated carefully. Glue with liquid cement for plastic and sand the joints down. A base primer and airbrushing in a uniform sand or green camouflage are what we recommend. Weathering comes from washes and pigments; on an engineer vehicle the mud and dust effects on the plow and the lower hull stand out.
