Color three-dimensional interior elements for a model of the Me 410A-1 in 1:72 scale, prepared for the kit from Airfix.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Me 410 was a German twin-engine combat aircraft from the end of the Second World War with a two-man crew seated in tandem under a long glazed canopy. It followed on from the earlier Me 210 and cured its flying vices. The A-1 version belongs to the start of the production run. Thanks to the extensive glazing, a great deal is visible in the cockpit of a model, so it pays to finish the interior properly.
The set brings color interior elements with a raised relief, that is the instrument surfaces and cockpit panels in finished colors. It saves you painting the tiny dials, for which 1:72 scale is uncomfortably small, and gives the surface a depth that a flat print cannot reach. The elements are shaped for the kit from Airfix.
The method of application differs between individual ranges, so follow the manufacturer's instructions enclosed with the set. Check in them whether the elements are applied dry or by the wet method and proceed accordingly. Paint the base in the cockpit, let it dry completely and degrease it. In this scale the individual pieces are genuinely tiny, so have fine-tipped tweezers, a sharp blade and good light ready. Lay the element down dry first, check the position and only then press it with a soft tool, so that the relief is not crushed.
The set suits modelers who build in a small scale and still want legible instruments under the canopy. It calls for patience and a steady hand, but the result tends to come faster than painting by hand. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
