1:72 Medieval Knights (40 figs) is a set of 40 plastic figures of medieval knights from the MARS Model brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
An extensive set from MARS Model that holds 40 figures. The subject is the armored men of the high and late Middle Ages, the soldiers around whom the whole military and social order of the time revolved. The figures are sold unglued and without a finish.
Knighthood arose from the need to put a heavily armed horseman into the field who could break an enemy formation. The equipment changed over the centuries from the mail shirt and the great helm, through the quilted gambeson, to the full plate armor of the fifteenth century. The knight fought with lance, sword and mace, attended by a squire and often by a retinue on foot. The outlay on a horse, armor and equipment was such that only a narrow class could afford it, and that is exactly why a knight's kit became the bearer of heraldic colors and devices.
Armor looks best over a dark base, brightened gradually with a dry brush; polished plate will take a slightly bluish cast as well. You can choose the heraldic fields on the shields and surcoats according to a particular family or country, which turns one set into several different retinues. Check the thin parts of the weapons against the light so that none are left bent.
It is supplied as unglued castings with no color finish. Paints and glue have to be obtained separately, unless stated otherwise.
