Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the carrier version of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the T-1 variant. It is a short-run kit from the Ukrainian manufacturer Amodel. The model will please collectors of less usual versions of the Messerschmitt and anyone interested in German naval aviation. The build calls for a more careful approach than mainstream kits.
The Bf 109T (nicknamed Toni) was the carrier variant of the Bf 109 fighter intended for service on the German aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin. Compared with the land-based versions it had an enlarged wing and equipment for taking off from and landing on a deck. Because the ship was never completed, the aircraft were in the end operated from land bases.
With a short-run mold, expect to clean off flash, to dry-fit the parts and possibly to fill the joints. Paint the cockpit before closing up the fuselage. For the standard German finish a combination of gray and green shades with a light undersurface suits well; a fine wash brings out the panel lines and dry pigments add the patina of flying.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
