Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter captures the Soviet Mikoyan MiG-29A Fulcrum front-line fighter in the early production variant designated Izdeliye 9.12. The box holds plastic parts with finely engraved panel lines, clear parts for the canopy glazing and decals. The exact part count and the number of marking schemes are given in the instructions in the box.
The MiG-29 Fulcrum was the Soviet answer to the new generation of Western fighters; development began in the 1970s and the aircraft first flew in 1977. The twin-engined, highly agile front-line fighter of the early variants (Izdeliye 9.12) carried short-range and medium-range air-to-air missiles as well as gun armament. It was notable for its distinctive aerodynamics, with wedge-shaped air intakes and a blended lifting fuselage that put it among the most agile aircraft of its day.
Finish and paint the cockpit, the nose gear bay and the air intakes before you close the fuselage up; the model is designed with the landing gear extended. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic and canopy glue on the clear parts. Apply a primer before airbrushing. Soviet camouflage schemes stand out when the panel lines are picked out with a wash and the exhaust staining is weathered discreetly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
