Plastic kit of the Mitsubishi J2M3 Raiden (Jack) (Hasegawa) in 1:72 scale — the Japanese interceptor of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese interceptor in 1:72 scale from Hasegawa. It captures the J2M3 Raiden, given the Allied code Jack, with its stocky fuselage and massive radial engine. The box contains parts in gray plastic with finely engraved panel lines, a clear cockpit canopy, a simply arranged cockpit and a decal sheet. It is a proven classic kit suitable for more advanced beginners and experienced builders alike.
The Mitsubishi J2M Raiden was a Japanese naval interceptor designed with the emphasis on rapid climb and high speed, so that it could intercept high-flying bombers. Compared with the agile Zero it stressed engine power and rate of climb at the expense of maneuverability; the stocky fuselage with its spindle-shaped engine cowling was characteristic. The J2M3 version carried heavier cannon armament. The machine was used above all in the defense of Japanese territory at the end of the war.
Finish and paint the cockpit first and only then close up the fuselage. Use liquid cement for plastic, a primer and an airbrush; mask the clear cockpit canopy before painting and decide on the open or closed position. The typical Japanese camouflage schemes come to life with soft transitions of shade, washes into the engraved lines and restrained paint wear on the leading edges and around the cockpit.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
