A finished metal collector model of the British Centurion tank in 1:72 scale in its Australian guise from the Vietnam War. Assembled and painted at the factory.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Centurion is a British tank that came about at the end of the Second World War and became the basis of the armored forces of a number of armies for long decades. It was powered by a Rolls-Royce Meteor V12 engine, and the chassis with sprung bogies and side skirts gives the machine its characteristic long silhouette. Over its service the Centurion went through many modifications of armament and armor, and it proved itself in combat in Southeast Asia as well.
The collector model in 1:72 scale is supplied finished, that is, assembled, painted and with the markings printed on. There is no assembly and no spraying. The body is metal and has noticeable weight in the hand, while the finer fittings tend to be plastic so that they keep a sharp shape. The finish matches the Australian version from the Vietnam War of the early 1970s.
The model suits a display case or a shelf. Lift it by the hull, never by the barrel or by the fine fittings on the turret. Sweep dust off with a soft brush, or with a stream of air, and use no solvents or cleaning agents on the finish. Lasting direct sunlight does the colors no good.
For the collector of postwar armor who wants a Centurion in a display case without building it, and as a gift for anyone interested in military history. The 1:72 scale is the most widespread for models of military vehicles, so the model follows on in size from the rest of the collection. It is supplied finished, and paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
