An injection-molded plastic kit of the light piston-engined aircraft Piper PA-18 Super Cub in its military form, in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Kovozavody Prostejov (KP). The Military edition concentrates on machines in army service. It is a short-run kit; check the exact contents of the package and the decal schemes against the item designation on the box.
The Piper PA-18 Super Cub is a single-engined high-wing aircraft of classic construction (a welded tube frame covered with fabric) with tandem seating. It was powered by a piston engine, and the machine became famous for its excellent takeoff and landing behavior on short, unpaved strips. In military service Super Cubs and related versions carried out the tasks of observation, liaison, training and the towing of gliders or targets. Thanks to their simplicity and reliability they stayed in service for many decades.
With a short-run kit, try the parts dry first and clean the sprue gates up carefully; joints with no locating pins may call for filling. Glue with a liquid cement for plastic and work carefully with the fine parts (the struts and the landing gear). Bring out the fabric covering of the fuselage and the wings with fine shading; military machines often carry olive or multicolored camouflage, which goes on well with an airbrush. Finally add a wash and discreet wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
