This short-run injection-molded kit captures the Pz.Kpfw.II Ausf.F light tank in a captured version, that is, in the scheme of a vehicle taken and used by the opposing side. The model is in 1:72 scale and usually comes with small resin parts and a metal barrel. Short-run molds call for somewhat more careful cleaning up of the parts than mainstream kits.
The Pz.Kpfw.II was a German light tank armed with a 20mm automatic cannon and a coaxial machine gun. The Ausf.F version was the last large-production variant, with strengthened frontal armor on the hull and the turret. Pz.II vehicles served from the beginning of the war as reconnaissance and light combat tanks; some captured machines were also used by the armies of the opposing side.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and clean the surfaces up before gluing; with short-run molds expect to remove flash. Finish and paint the running gear and the interior features before closing the hull. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic; a primer, an airbrush and final washes and pigments for bringing out the detail and the weathering are recommended.
