The real subject

The Sd.Kfz.231 8-Rad was a German heavy armored reconnaissance car with drive and steering on all eight wheels, thanks to which it had excellent cross-country mobility for its time. In the turret it carried an autocannon and a machine gun and it served above all with reconnaissance units at the start of the Second World War. The vehicle became one of the characteristic armored cars of the German army.

Building and painting tips

Thanks to the simple build the model is finished quickly. Clean the flash off the small parts and glue them with liquid cement. For the early period an overall gray finish suits, and later the German yellow with camouflage. Weathering is given by washes in the engraved lines, and dust and mud on the running gear are brought to life with pigments.
