An injection-molded plastic kit of the German StuG III Ausf. G self-propelled gun in the late-production Alkett version (Last Alkett Production) in 1:72 scale by MiniArt. The kit belongs to the brand's finely detailed StuG III range and, besides the styrene parts, also includes a set of photo-etched parts and several marking options for different combat units. As this is the smaller 1:72 scale, the parts are fine and small, and assembly calls for care, especially with the running gear and the etched parts.
The StuG III (Sturmgeschütz III) was a German armored self-propelled gun built on the Panzer III tank chassis. The Ausf. G was its most numerous and most modern version, produced from late 1942 until the end of the war. It was armed with the long 7.5 cm StuK 40 gun, and thanks to its low silhouette and decent armor it proved itself in both a defensive and an anti-tank role. The designation Last Alkett Production refers to the final production batches from the Alkett plant in Berlin in the late phase of the war, with their characteristic late-production details.
We recommend a thin liquid cement for the plastic and cyanoacrylate glue for the small etched parts. Assemble and paint the running gear and road wheels before closing up the hull. Apply a good primer and the base color with an airbrush; washes and pigments for mud and dust effects will complete the typical late-war look. With such small parts in 1:72 scale, work carefully so the fine detail is not lost.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
