A plastic kit of the Supermarine Spitfire PR Type A/B/E, Cotton Club 1939-40 in 1:72 scale from IBG Models: the early photo-reconnaissance version of the famous Spitfire.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the early photo-reconnaissance Spitfires in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer IBG Models. The Cotton Club 1939-40 edition makes it possible to build the early reconnaissance versions Type A, B and E from the first years of the war. The package also brings bonus 3D printed wheels.
The reconnaissance Spitfires were the first specialized photo-reconnaissance versions of the famous British fighter. They were created for the needs of the reconnaissance unit led by F. S. Cotton, hence the nickname Cotton Club. The aircraft lost their armament and received cameras and extra fuel for longer range instead. They operated inconspicuously over German territory and took pictures of targets in the first months of the war; they often carried unusual protective camouflage.
In the small 1:72 scale, glue the parts carefully in small doses with a thin cement for plastic and sand the joints gently. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting. The light reconnaissance camouflage will stand out when sprayed with an airbrush; pick out the fine panel lines carefully with a thin wash. The bonus 3D printed wheels offer sharper detail than the injection-molded version.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
