An add-on set of cockpit equipment for a model of the British TSR-2 in 1:72 scale. It is prepared for the kit marked with the abbreviation AIR.
Responsibility details are not available.
The TSR-2 was a British strike and reconnaissance aircraft of the first half of the 1960s. It was to fly very fast at low altitude, carry a heavy load and add reconnaissance equipment to it. The development grew more and more expensive, however, the program was canceled in 1965 and the machine never reached squadron service; only the prototype flew. Among modelers the TSR-2 is therefore a rewarding subject, because it is an aircraft that stayed half way.
An add-on set of cockpit equipment for a model in 1:72 scale. It replaces the interior of the cockpit with more finely rendered parts; the crew of the TSR-2 sat in tandem, so the detail tells in both positions. The set is prepared for the kit marked with the abbreviation AIR. Before gluing, dry fit the parts to the model you are building and check how they sit in the fuselage and under the canopy.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry; on a degreased surface both paint and glue hold far better. Cut the excess material and production marks off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down carefully. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; with add-on sets cyanoacrylate has proved itself. Assemble, paint and shade the cockpit before the fuselage is glued together, and try whether the canopy will still close once everything is in; with added parts that is the most frequent snag. The position of the individual parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
