An add-on armament set for a model of the German Type IX submarine in 1:72 scale, measured for the kit marked with the abbreviation REV.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Type IX was a German ocean-going submarine of the Second World War, that is a larger, longer-ranged boat than the widespread Type VII. On the deck and on the conning tower it carried gun and anti-aircraft armament whose make-up changed during service, and it is precisely these items that tend to be simplified in kits: thin barrels, sights and mountings are hard to mold in plastic.
The set replaces the armament of a model with parts that stand up to close inspection. The extent of the package and the number of parts are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging. The abbreviation REV refers to the kit the set is measured for, so check before you buy that you are building this particular model. On another kit in the same scale, expect to have to adjust the seats and openings.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade a short distance from the part, sand the remaining excess material off carefully and wash and degrease everything before painting, otherwise the primer will not hold. Choose the glue according to the material: on parts that are not polystyrene, ordinary modeling cement does not hold and cyanoacrylate is needed. Glue the armament on only after the hull and conning tower have been painted, otherwise you will not get at it later. The barrels and mountings come alive with a dark glaze in the shadows and a light accenting of the edges.
For builders of a large submarine model in 1:72 scale who want the most visible part of the deck to match the rest of the build.
The submarine model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
