A supplementary set capturing the officers' ward room and the galley of a Type VIIC submarine in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The space for officers on a Type VIIC submarine was only a partitioned corner of the passageway, not a cabin in the true sense. It served at once as a mess, an office and a place to sleep, and only a curtain separated it from the traffic around it. Right beside it was the galley, in which the cook prepared food for the whole crew in an area where two people cannot pass each other.
The set works up exactly this part of the interior, that is, the officers' ward room and the galley, in 1:72 scale. It is a scene that gives a model a human dimension: tableware, stores and personal belongings affect a viewer differently from machinery. Before buying, compare the scale and the version of the submarine with your own kit and with the manufacturer's instructions, which also give the extent of the parts.
First dry-fit the parts in the hull and only then glue them. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down, so that the mating surfaces stay flat. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. Finish the interior, including the shading and small color accents, before you close the hull up. Warm shades of wood and a light wall beside dark machinery will help the scene.
The set is for modelers who are building the submarine with an open side, a cutaway in the hull or as a sectioned diorama and who want to show how life aboard went. It goes well with the other interior sets, because the neighboring spaces follow on from one another in a model. The submarine kit is not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
