A set of plastic historical figures in 1:72 scale from MARS Model. This is not one model but a set of soldiers in various poses to be glued and painted, intended for dioramas and wargaming. The set represents US Rangers at the Normandy landings. The figures are supplied as unpainted plastic on the sprue.
The US Rangers were elite assault units that made their name in the Second World War above all at the Normandy landings on 6 June 1944 (D-Day). The best known of their actions is the attack on the Pointe du Hoc, where they had to scale steep cliffs under enemy fire and knock out an artillery position above the beaches. The Rangers were trained for the hardest tasks — amphibious landings, breaking through fortifications and close combat. The set captures these soldiers in combat poses with period equipment.
Cut the figures carefully from the sprue and clean up the flash with a knife or a fine file. Glue the parts with a suitable adhesive (cement for plastic models on hard plastic, super glue on softer material). Apply a primer before painting. Paint with acrylic figure paints, paint the individual areas of the uniform and the equipment separately, pick the detail out with a fine brush and deepen the shadows with a wash. Set the figures into a scene of the beach landing.
The set is supplied as unpainted plastic figures. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
