Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian brand A&A Models, which specializes in rare subjects. The model captures the Soviet experimental interceptor with a combined powerplant. The package holds plastic sprues, etched parts, self-adhesive masks and decals; the exact contents are given on the packaging.
The Ye-50 was an experimental machine of the Mikoyan design bureau of the middle of the 1950s, developed with the aim of reaching exceptional altitude and speed performance. Besides a turbojet it also carried a rocket engine, which gave it a large short-term increase in thrust while climbing to great altitude. The Ye development line then led all the way to the famous MiG-21. The first prototype flew in 1956 and one of the machines reached a high speed as well as a high altitude, which confirmed the potential of mixed power.
A kit with delicate parts and etch is recommended to more advanced modelers. Glue the plastic with thin liquid cement and the etch with super glue. Use the masks supplied on the glazing. Spray the light or metal surface of the prototype with an airbrush over a smooth base and choose restrained weathering as suits a test aircraft.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
