KAB-500LG guided bomb, 1:48 is a 3D-printed resin replica of a guided aerial bomb from the KAB-500 family in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds a 3D-printed resin replica of the KAB-500 guided aerial bomb in the version marked LG, in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for the external stores. The print holds the thin tail surfaces and the detail of the seeker head, which a mold thickens.
The KAB-500 family are Soviet and Russian guided aerial bombs in the 500 kilogram weight class, differing above all in the guidance module in the nose. The airframe with the warhead and the tail surfaces stays common, so the individual versions are told apart by the nose. A guided bomb makes it possible to hit a target with a far smaller spread than a free-falling bomb and cuts the number of passes needed. The bombs are carried by tactical bombers and attack aircraft.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in warm soapy water first, to get rid of any print resin residue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the marks away with respiratory protection. Resin does not bond with polystyrene cement, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth print. Assemble and paint the armament separately and glue it to the pylon only once the varnish has dried, so that the fine surfaces do not get rubbed.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
