A resin model of the MBD2-67U multiple ejector rack in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The rack is hung on a pylon of the aircraft and makes it possible to carry several smaller bombs on one station instead of a single large one. On a model it is a part full of thin arms and locks that a plastic mold cannot cope with, whereas printing in resin can.
Multiple ejector racks belong to the basic equipment of Soviet and Russian tactical aircraft. Without them a machine would carry only as many bombs as it has pylons; with them the load capacity is used far better. The rack has locks, electrical wiring and a release mechanism of its own, so it is not merely a passive carrier. In photographs from an airfield it is easy to see how the bombs hang tightly side by side under a single arm.
Release the rack from the supports over a working surface; the arms are thin. Sand the marks left by the supports wet and with respiratory protection. Wash the part in lukewarm soapy water before painting. The rack is usually in the same shade as the underside of the airframe, and its relief comes out after a faint dark touch into the recesses. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue; fit the bombs only once both parts are painted.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
