The black Infini-Model Ship Rigging Fine line is a fine modeling thread on a 45 meter spool, meant for the rigging and lines of ship models roughly in 1:350 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A material for building, not a kit or an add-on set. It is a fine black thread wound on a spool, used to imitate rigging, antennas, guard rails and other thin stretched features on ship models. The length on the spool is 45 meters, which the manufacturer also gives in imperial units as 145 feet. Infini-Model supplies this range in three thicknesses for ships: the thinnest is Super Fine, the middle one Fine and the thickest Medium; this package is the middle thickness, recommended for 1:350 scale.
Unwind the thread with some to spare and firm the ends up with a drop of super glue before threading them: it will not unravel and will pass through a hole more easily. Tension it gradually from the middle outward so that the mast does not lean, and replace knots with a drop of super glue on the seating face. Cut the surplus off with sharp scissors only once it has dried. The black version suits most ship rigging with no further painting; if you need another shade, apply the paint very thinly so that the thread does not set into stiff wire. Check the tension before gluing: an overstretched thread can deform thin photo-etched masts over time.
For builders of ship models who want to replace the coarse threads from the box, and for modelers working with photo-etched sets, where a fine thread is the only way to keep the scale. Thanks to the length on the spool, one spool will last for several models.
The material is supplied on its own; glue, tools and model parts are not included in the package.
