A resin model of the B-13L rocket pod in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. It is a pod with tubes for unguided rockets that hangs on a pylon under the wing. A rocket pod is exactly where resin printing pays off most: the mouths of the tubes stay open and you do not have to drill them. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for the armament.
A rocket pod is a simple but effective weapon: a single pod carries several unguided rockets, which are fired in a salvo. The B-13L type is built for heavier rockets of a large caliber, so it has fewer but much bulkier tubes than pods for small ordnance. In photographs from airfields such pods hang under the wings of ground-attack and strike aircraft and are easy to recognize by their circular mouths.
Release the part from the print supports with a scalpel and level the seating face. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Darken the inside of the tubes before you fit the pod, as you will not reach it later. After use the mouths tend to be sooted, so a fine dark tint drawn rearward works well.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
