A pliable masking putty for spraying camouflage schemes with soft transitions. It is shaped by hand directly on the model and applied before spraying.
Responsibility details are not available.
Masking putty is useful where tape is not enough. Camouflage schemes on aircraft and vehicles tend to have irregular, often softly sprayed boundaries between colors, and those are exactly what the putty shapes with ease. The material keeps the shape you give it, holds to the surface even on convex areas and follows any curve without breaking and without folded creases.
Knead the putty, roll it into a strip and press it onto the line of the future transition before you spray. You control how soft the transition is by how high above the surface the edge of the putty lies: the higher it is, the more blurred the boundary, while a pressed-down edge gives a sharper transition. Cover the rest of the area that is not to receive paint with tape or film. After spraying, lift the putty off carefully and do not leave it on the model longer than necessary.
Try the procedure on an offcut or in an inconspicuous place first, especially if there is a fresh or gloss coat underneath the masking. The surface should be dry and free of grease before the putty is pressed on. Wipe small remnants of putty off the surface before you go on with the next coat. Close the container after work, so that the putty does not dry out and pick up dust.
Anyone who sprays multicolor camouflage schemes and wants the transitions under control will appreciate it, whether they build aircraft, vehicles or figures. Paints, thinner, masking tape and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
