The set brings a 3D printed K-36D ejection seat in 1:32 scale from Temp Models. It is not a model of an aircraft but a replacement for a cockpit part: the printed seat carries sharper detail of the harness straps, the restraints and the controls than injection-molded plastic can give. It goes in place of the part from the kit, or into the open cockpit of a combat aircraft.
The K-36D belongs to the K-36 family of ejection seats from the Zvezda company. The seats of this family cope with an escape from zero altitude at zero speed, stabilize themselves with two telescopic booms with drogue chutes and have restraints against the limbs being flung about. The individual versions differ in their automatics, in the shape of the shell and in the type of aircraft they belong to.
The parts are printed from resin and are held only by thin supports. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel as close to the part as possible, sand the marks down with fine sandpaper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint holds longer on a smooth print if you lay a thin coat of primer under it. Paint and weather the seat before gluing it into the cockpit, because afterwards you will not reach it.
The set is an addition to building a model, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
