The set brings a 3D printed K-36DM ejection seat in 1:32 scale from Temp Models. It is not a model of an aircraft but a replacement for a cockpit part: the printed seat carries sharper detail of the harness straps, the restraints and the controls than injection-molded plastic can give. It goes in place of the part from the kit, or into the open cockpit of a fighter.
The K-36 family of ejection seats was developed by the Zvezda company and is among the most successful designs of its kind. It copes with an escape even from zero altitude at zero speed and works over a wide range of speeds and altitudes. Typical of it are the two telescopic stabilizing booms with drogue chutes and the restraints that hold the pilot's limbs against his body during the ejection. The DM version is carried by the Su-27, the MiG-29 and the MiG-31 in various modifications.
The parts are printed from resin and are held only by thin supports. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel as close to the part as possible, sand the marks down with fine sandpaper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint holds longer on a smooth print if you lay a thin coat of primer under it. Paint and weather the seat before gluing it into the cockpit, because afterwards you will not reach it.
The set is an addition to building a model, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
