The model of the AL-31F engine in 1:48 scale is a 3D-printed resin accessory from Temp Models. A separate engine for a hangar scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin model of the whole AL-31F engine in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. Unlike the nozzle sets, which replace only the visible part of the tail end, this is the engine as a separate object: it suits a hangar scene, a cart beside a stripped aircraft or a model with the engine nacelle opened up. It is not an aircraft kit.
The AL-31F is a turbofan engine with an afterburner that powers the whole family of heavy Su-27 fighters and the machines derived from it. It is a large unit and during maintenance it is drawn out of the tail end to the rear, so in photographs from a hangar it tends to be seen standing on its own cart beside the aircraft. It is exactly this scene that is rewarding for a modeler: it shows the dimensions of the engine, which are otherwise hidden in the fuselage.
Release the parts from the supports with a scalpel and level the mating faces. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. The engine is varied in color: the casing has a metallic tone, the piping and the wiring other shades. Build them up in layers and finally bring the recesses out with a dark tone. Oil stains and heat marks on the rear part will lend it credibility.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
