An add-on armament set in 1:72 scale from the Russian manufacturer Temp Models, printed from photopolymer. For it the manufacturer gives twelve FAB-250M-54 high-explosive bombs on MBD3-U6-68 multiple ejector racks. The set thus gives a finished kit a complete bomb load at once; it does not make up an aircraft model.
The FAB-250M-54 is a high-explosive aerial bomb of the 250 kilogram class to the 1954 pattern, recognizable by its thick-walled body with a blunter nose. The MBD3-U6-68 multiple ejector rack is hung on a pylon and carries bombs in two rows of three, so a single hardpoint lifts six weapons. The combination of the two was the basic strike load of Soviet tactical aircraft against area targets.
The parts are printed from photopolymer, so thin print supports are left on them. Cut them away with a sharp scalpel or photo-etch nippers and sand the pad they leave with fine abrasive paper. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue, because polystyrene cement has no effect on this material. Lay down a filler primer before painting; it will at the same time reveal any remains of the supports. Sanding is best done wet and with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
