The AL-31F engine nozzles for the Su-34 in 1:72 replace the plastic exhaust nozzles from the kit with printed parts. An accessory for a model, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set from the Russian manufacturer Temp Models in 1:72 scale, printed from photopolymer. It holds the exhaust nozzles of the AL-31F engines in the form for the Su-34 tactical bomber. It replaces the plastic nozzles from the kit and does not make up an aircraft model on its own.
The AL-31F is a turbofan engine with an afterburner that in a pair powers the heavy aircraft of the Su-27 family, the Su-34 tactical bomber among them. The variable exhaust nozzle made up of rings of thin petals cannot be missed on the aircraft's rear end, because the Su-34 has a long tail sting between the engine nacelles and the nozzles therefore stand out on their own. Kits as a rule simplify them to a smooth cone.
Cut the print supports away with a scalpel and sand the pads carefully, because every unevenness shows clearly in the mouth of a nozzle. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue. The inside of the nozzle looks best in metallic shades with heat staining toward blue-violet and brown; metallic paints go on over a smooth gloss base and are harder to mask, so leave them for last. Sanding is best done wet and with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
