A detail set from the Russian manufacturer Temp Models in 1:72 scale, printed from photopolymer. It holds the exhaust nozzles of the AL-41F1S engines in the form for the Su-35S fighter. It replaces the plastic nozzles from the kit and does not make up an aircraft model on its own.
The AL-41F1S is a turbofan engine with an afterburner, developed for the Su-35S from the engine of the previous generation. It has thrust vectoring, so the whole exhaust nozzle swivels and the aircraft gains agility even where aerodynamic controls are no longer enough. Deflected nozzles rank among the most distinctive features of a parked Su-35S, and plastic kits as a rule capture them only in the neutral position.
Cut the print supports away with a scalpel and sand the pads carefully, because every unevenness shows clearly in the mouth of a nozzle. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue. If you deflect the nozzles, check against photographs how a parked aircraft looks. The inside of the nozzle looks best in metallic shades with heat staining, laid over a smooth gloss base. Sanding is best done wet and with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
