Exhaust nozzles of the R-15B-300 engines for the MiG-25RB and RBT in 1:32 scale are a 3D printed replacement for the parts from the kit, from Temp Models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings 3D printed exhaust nozzles of the R-15B-300 engines in 1:32 scale from Temp Models, and that in the form for the reconnaissance and bomber versions MiG-25RB and RBT. It is not a model of an aircraft but a replacement for the parts that on a kit tend to be coarse. On the MiG-25 the nozzle is a visually striking assembly, so it is where detail shows the most.
The R-15B-300 is a single-shaft turbojet with an axial compressor and an afterburner, developed precisely for the MiG-25. The exhaust nozzles of the two engines are turned slightly toward each other at the rear and on the aircraft they sit so close together that the characteristic narrow gap is left between them. Inside the nozzle a system of movable petals is visible, which injection-molded plastic renders only in simplified form.
The parts are printed from resin and are held only by thin supports. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel as close to the part as possible, sand the marks down with fine sandpaper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint holds longer on a smooth print if you lay a thin coat of primer under it. Hold the small parts over a dish while cutting them off so that they do not get lost, and glue them on only after the surrounding area has been painted.
The set is an addition to building a model, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
