A resin R-27ET air-to-air guided missile in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. It combines the lengthened body and more powerful motor with an infrared seeker head. The resin print manages the thin lifting surfaces as well as the seeker cover. It is not an aircraft model but a separate store to be hung under a finished model.
A heat-seeking missile with long reach is an unusual combination: the infrared seeker head needs no support from radar, so after launch the aircraft does not have to keep illuminating the target and does not give itself away by its own transmission. The lengthened body with a more powerful motor at the same time pushes the reach out to a distance nobody expects from a heat-seeking missile. On a model the version shows in its length and in the transparent cover on the nose.
Release the long missile body from the supports on a flat work mat so that it does not bow. Sand the marks down with fine paper and wet sand, with respiratory protection. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting. The cover of the seeker head is done in a polished metallic paint or a clear coat. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
