A resin R-60 air-to-air guided missile in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. It is a very small part, and resin printing shows to its best advantage here: the plastic version in this scale tends to be no more than a suggested shape. It is not an aircraft model but a separate store to be hung under a finished model.
The R-60 is an exceptionally light Soviet close-combat missile with infrared guidance. Its low weight allowed it to be hung even on aircraft that could not afford larger armament, from trainers to ground-attack types, and so it spread across the whole Eastern Bloc. Its characteristic features are the small plates at the nose and a short body, thanks to which two rounds fitted on a single mount.
Work over a mat and with tweezers that have smooth jaws; the part is very small. Cut the print supports away with a fresh blade and never break them off. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting. In 1:72 scale a base shade and a thin dark line in the panel lines is enough, as fine detail would be lost.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
