The set brings 3D printed landing gear wheels for the MiG-19 in 1:32 scale from Temp Models. It is not a model of the aircraft but a replacement for the parts from the kit: the printed wheel carries a crisper tread pattern, finer relief on the hub and a cleaner shape of the axle boss than an injection mold can give. For the sets of this range the manufacturer gives the nose wheel and the braked main wheels.
The MiG-19 is the first Soviet series-built fighter that could exceed the speed of sound in level flight. It has two jet engines side by side in the rear of the fuselage and a pronouncedly swept wing. The twin-engine layout raised the weight over the single-engine predecessors, so the landing gear and the wheels had to be more robust, and that shows on a model in a large scale.
The parts are printed from resin and are held only by thin supports. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel as close to the part as possible, sand the marks down with fine sandpaper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint holds longer on a smooth print if you lay a thin coat of primer under it. Paint the wheel in stages: the hub first, then mask it and finish the tire. Dust pigment holds in the tread pattern on its own.
The set is an addition to building a model, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
