Replacement landing gear wheels in 1:72 scale from the Russian manufacturer Temp Models. For the MiG-29 wheels the manufacturer describes finely detailed nose and braked wheels in the weighted state and a nose gear mudguard of the correct shape; the parts are printed from photopolymer. This item is listed with the additional marking 3D, by which the manufacturer distinguishes one of its versions of the set.
The MiG-29 is a Soviet twin-engine tactical fighter powered by a pair of RD-33 turbofan engines with afterburners. Operations from less prepared surfaces were part of the design, so it received robust landing gear and a prominent mudguard on the nose leg that protects the engines from ingesting debris off the runway. Weighted tires and the shape of the mudguard belong among the details plastic kits skimp on most often.
Cut the print supports away with a scalpel and sand the pad where it will not be seen. Glue the wheels with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue. Lay down a filler primer before painting and paint the tires a very dark gray rather than black. Dust pigment on the sidewalls and in the tread gives the wheels depth. Sanding is best done wet and with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
