White is a color that a modeler gets through faster than expected. Besides the areas that are genuinely meant to be white, it serves as a base under poorly covering yellow, orange and red tones, as a component for lightening other shades and as the tone for small markings, numbers and stripes. That is exactly why it is worth having on hand even when the scheme you are building does not obviously call for it.
The breadth of use runs across categories:
White covers worse than any other shade and at the same time punishes haste the most. Apply several really thin coats and let the paint dry between them; one heavy coat will clog the scribing and panel lines and still stay uneven. The base must be clean, degreased and free of sanding dust, because every bit of dirt shows through white. Stir the bottle thoroughly before work. For spraying, thin the paint with the thinner intended for this range and fine-tune the ratio to your airbrush and pressure. Clean your tools right after work, while the film is still soft.
One bottle of paint is supplied. Thinner, primer, varnish and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
