A Gunze Hobby Color acrylic modeling paint in a neutral gray shade with neither a warm nor a cool cast.
Responsibility details are not available.
Neutral gray is a mid gray tone with no noticeable warm or cool cast. That is exactly why it is one of the most used paints in a modeling workshop: it stands up on its own and at the same time serves as a mixing shade with which you take saturation out of another color without shifting it toward blue or brown.
It comes into its own as a base under light and saturated shades, which cover better over it than over bare plastic. It also serves well to even out a surface where plastic, filler and accessories meet, and in shading and lightening surfaces, where it tends to be the starting tone. Away from the model itself you will use it on elements of a scene where the gray is meant to stay discreet, that is, on concrete surfaces, crates and small equipment.
The paint belongs to the Gunze Hobby Color acrylic range. Stir the bottle thoroughly before use, because settled pigment will otherwise shift the resulting tone. Lay it on in thin coats on a degreased, dust-free surface, ideally over a primer. Gray shades cover readily, so you will manage with fewer coats and the fine surface detail will stay legible. When you use the paint as a component in a mixture, note down the ratio so that you can repeat the shade at any time. For thinning, cleaning the tools and setting the airbrush, follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging.
The paint alone is supplied. Thinner, primer, a final varnish and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
