Sand yellow is a light warm tone on the border between yellow and beige, that is the color of parched earth and sand. In modeling it is one of the most useful shades there is: vehicles committed in a desert environment are covered with it, dusty deposits on suspensions and lower surfaces are laid in with it, and thinned down it serves as the light tone for highlighting panels and edges.
The most straightforward use is an overall coat of desert camouflage, whether on an aircraft, an armored vehicle or a truck. Besides that it suits wooden crates, tarpaulins, ropes and other small things for dioramas, where saturated colors are to be avoided.
Light warm shades cover worse than dark ones, so on bare dark plastic expect several thin coats, or better lay down a light base. Stir the bottle thoroughly before work, as the pigment settles to the bottom. The paint is suitable for a brush as well as an airbrush; for spraying, thin it with the thinner intended for this range and fine-tune the ratio according to your airbrush and pressure. Handle the dry film with care: light sand surfaces forgive nothing and a fingerprint stays visible on them, so once the model is sprayed, hold it through a glove or by the parts that will not be on show.
One bottle of paint is supplied. Thinner, primer, varnish and an airbrush are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
