A Gunze Hobby Color acrylic modeling paint in the shade Dark Sea Grey according to the British standard BS 381C, number 638.
Responsibility details are not available.
Dark Sea Grey is listed under number 638 in the British standard BS 381C. Unlike the American FS standard, that standard numbers only the shade itself, and the degree of sheen cannot be read from the number. It is a dark, cool gray tone belonging to British aircraft, and in camouflage schemes it appears paired with a dark green as well as with a lighter gray.
You will reach for it above all with British subjects, whose finishes are specified precisely according to BS 381C. Beyond those it will serve wherever a dark neutral gray with no warm cast is needed, that is, on upper surfaces, on armament details and on elements of a scene. It goes well with the other shades of the same standard, because they were defined within one common system and they hold together even after drying and varnishing.
The paint belongs to the Gunze Hobby Color acrylic range. Stir the bottle thoroughly before use, because settled pigment will otherwise shift the resulting tone. Degrease the surface of the model and clear it of dust, ideally evening it out with a primer. Lay it on in thin coats; dark grays cover readily and a thick coat needlessly clogs the fine detail. Thinning, cleaning the tools and the spraying pressure follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. Before applying decals, varnish the surface with a gloss coat, and at the end even the whole model out to the appearance you want.
The paint alone is supplied. Thinner, primer, a final varnish and tools are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
