A set of small scenic elements: Japanese lamps and miniature bonsai. It is not a kit and not a model, but an add-on set for furnishing a finished diorama, vignette or figure base. The Spanish brand AK interactive runs this range as small building blocks of a scene: you buy individual elements, not a whole tableau.
A lamp and a plant do a lot of work in miniature: they give the scene its scale, lead the eye and tell the viewer where the action takes place. A stone lantern or a shaped bonsai moves a neutral patch of green into a specific setting - a garden, a yard beside a house, a temple courtyard. They serve just as well on a separate figure base, where one striking element replaces a more complicated backdrop.
The accessories are supplied unpainted. Stone comes alive with a gray base coat, a dark wash into the joints and a dry brush across the edges; the crown of a bonsai calls for two or three graded greens so that it does not look flat. Set the elements down and turn them around in the terrain first, and only then glue them: super glue holds instantly, while epoxy gives you time to fine-tune the position. Finally hide the joint with the groundwork under a little static grass, scatter or pigment, so that the accessory does not look stuck on from outside.
The accessories are supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and terrain materials are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
