Landscapes of War Vol. 2 is a modeling publication from the Vallejo range about creating landscape for dioramas. It is the second part of the series.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second volume of the Landscapes of War series, which Vallejo carries in its range. It is a book, not a kit and not a set of material. The series concentrates on the landscape of a diorama — on terrain, surfaces and the setting into which a modeler places a finished vehicle, aircraft or figure — and this part follows on from it as a publication in its own right.
For modelers who already have building and painting in hand and want to set a model into a scene that stands up even at close range. With dioramas several things decide at once: readable composition, the scale of the details, matching the coloring of the base with the model, and materials that will stand up to handling and to being carried to a show. The book is a purchase for the longer term — you come back to it as you go along, not once, the way you do with a set of instructions. It also helps at the moment when a modeler knows what he wants to build but has no idea how to put the scene together so that it leads the viewer's eye to the model and does not fall apart into a jumble of details. Composition and working with light matter just as much in a diorama as the purely craft execution of the terrain, and without examples to learn from they are hard to work out.
The product is supplied as a publication. The model, the material for the terrain and the paints are not part of it.
