Lascivus Decor Peach Type

Lascivus Decor Peach Type, a warm register of skin

A set from the figure painting branch of the Gunze range. The Lascivus range came about for a single task: to handle human skin in a small scale so that it does not look like painted modeling clay. Within that, Peach Type stands for the warmer, pinkish register with a peach cast, matching healthy, well circulated skin.

How skin is built up

A convincing face never comes from one shade. The base tone carries the whole surface, a darker register settles into the eye sockets, under the cheekbones and into the folds of the neck, and a lighter one comes forward on the bridge of the nose, the forehead and the chin. The blush on the cheeks and the ears is then added last and only as a suggestion. A matched set makes this sequence easier, because the individual tones fit together and you do not have to find them by mixing.

Working with a lacquer paint

Lascivus is a lacquer range. It tolerates neither water nor the thinner for the same maker's water-based paints, as both curdle the contents of the bottle. Use only the thinner for lacquer paints, work with good ventilation and close the bottles carefully between steps, because a lacquer paint thickens quickly in the air.

Who it will serve

• Builders of figures who want a warm skin tone with no red undertone.
• Modelers who have mixed skin tones so far and would like a consistent result across a series.
• Collectors whose main objection to a figure is a lifeless face.

The make-up of the package is not stated here: neither the number nor the volume of the bottles can be established.
