This is a set of modeling paints of the Mr.Color line, that is, lacquer-based paints. That is essential information for working with them: Mr.Color is not an acrylic. It is thinned with Mr.Color lacquer thinner or Mr.Leveling Thinner, not with water. It does not mix with the Aqueous or Acrysion acrylic lines and does not tolerate their thinners. The set is listed as semi-gloss, and by its name the Mechanical Color line is intended for painting robot and science fiction models, where a saturated red is one of the key colors.

Use

• Thin only with Mr.Color lacquer thinner or Mr.Leveling Thinner, never with water
• Spray with an airbrush in thin coats; lacquer dries quickly and will take the next coat soon
• On plastic, apply over a primer, and doubly so on the colored plastic of science fiction kits
• A semi-gloss surface is a good base under decals, so you need not varnish separately for them
• Do not mix or overcoat together with Aqueous or Acrysion acrylics

The set suits a modeler who builds robot and science fiction models and wants the red shades harmonized in one finish, instead of assembling them from different lines. It will serve equally well anyone who already works with Mr.Color lacquers and is adding a complete color group to them. A beginner who has so far sprayed only water-thinnable acrylics should count on different chemistry, a different thinner and the need for thorough ventilation.

The lacquer and its thinner are flammable and the vapors irritate the airways. Work in a well-ventilated space, ideally in a spray booth, and use a respirator. Keep out of the reach of children and away from open flame.
