The 250 ml contents cover a surprisingly wide field of use. The manufacturer prescribes the bottle for the water-thinnable Aqueous Hobby Color range, for the Mr. Color lacquer range, for weathering paints, for the Mr. Metal Color metal shades and also for the sprayable putties, the resin primer and the base white of the same brand. Anyone who builds mainly from one workshop can therefore manage with a single solvent instead of four.
The other half of the benefit lies in cleaning up. It dissolves dried residues from brushes, from cups and from the inside of airbrushes, that is from the places where settled pigment is hardest to get out. It also serves to remove an old or unsuccessful coat when you need to go back to clean plastic and start again without taking an already glued model apart.
The solvent works into the depth as well. Every new layer of paint or putty revives the layer beneath it, so a heavily thinned paint sprayed wet can undermine a finished base and blend the two shades together. It is safe to apply the first coats dry, from a greater distance, and to leave time between them.
The volume of the bottle lasts a long time even with regular flushing of the gun after every color. Work in a room that can be ventilated and keep the bottle away from heat and open flame.
