Mr. Masking Sheet Round / Triangle

Mr. Masking Sheet Round / Triangle (Gunze)

A universal masking sheet from the Japanese manufacturer Gunze with round and triangular shapes. It is tied neither to a particular kit nor to a scale: you will use it anywhere you need to cover a small area of a regular shape, such as headlights, instruments, circular protrusions, position markings or small geometric elements of camouflage. It saves you cutting shapes out of masking tape, where every circle cut with scissors differs from the last.

Use

• Degrease the surface before masking and let the paint under the mask dry through completely, not merely set.
• Peel the shape off the sheet with the tip of a scalpel or with tweezers, so that the adhesive layer is not soiled.
• Press the edges down thoroughly: paint creeping under a mask almost always starts at an edge that was not pressed down.
• Spray the paint in thin coats and perpendicular to the surface, not at an angle under the edge of the mask.
• Remove the mask shortly after the paint has set, pulling it across the edge and not straight up.

Who it is for

For modelers who paint with an airbrush and often deal with small round and triangular areas, on aircraft, military equipment, cars and figures alike. Those who do their own camouflage schemes and need a repeatable shape will appreciate it as well. The sheet is universal, so it will last across projects and scales. The dimensions of the sheet, the number of shapes and the material of the carrier are stated on the box.

Store the sheet flat and dry; a creased or dusty carrier loses its grip. Remove any adhesive residue left after the mask has been taken off by gentle wiping, not with an aggressive solvent.
